On the way home from Southern Illinois
Well I got lucky and had a 4 day from playing army. I had seen the place on the way to Illinois that I drive by everytime in Kentucky. The leaves were starting to turn and I could just tell it would be a great shot. Just had to wait till the right time with the lighting. Well this weekend I finally stopped and it was well worth it. I photoshoped the first one with a brushstroke layer. It made the leaves look like a painting. I liked this one the best I think. The other ones are just as good. I love the fall with the changing of the trees and just the beauty of nature.

So ready.....
Another wonderful day in the Army. I get to go to a soldier of the month board next month. I can't win casue I am flagged for being fat. I am moving on post next month so my time will be crunched. As if working 12 hours a day isn't bad enough. My job isn't hard. 12 hours of sitting on my ass typing on the computer and processing cases. So I got time to study. That is not a problem. I am also taking speech class. 5 HOURS!!! every thursday I have to sit in a class and listen to people besides the teacher talk. YAY!! One class closer to my dream I guess. I love being so close to home. I get to go home so much and save my leave up. My wife, audra, got accepted into the university of louisville nursing program. She starts that this summer. I am so proud and excited for her. I will have a sugar mama. LOL. Just kidding baby. I have been getting so tired and irratated with people lately. It seems like just the little things make me so angry. I am so ready to get out of the army. It is just with the economy so bad and my health and life insurance would go away. So...... decisions, decisions. Well Im outie.

Freeman Lake Park
Well I went to Freeman Lake Park today with the wifey. Had a lot of fun. It was a really nice day out. I guess the Lincoln Family has some roots here. There was a lot of stuff about them at this park. Cabins and such.

Another Day
Well another day gone by. The Army sure does take it out of you. I work 12 hour days do some pt and come home and sleep. I started taking speech class. I am looking forward to getting one step closer to being able to take some photography courses. Today I was looking up at my ceiling today and was looking at this light fixture. It amazes me how this one light fixture is expected to light my whole room. I love black and white pictures. It shows the emotion and rawness of the subject or object. I still have my 35mm canon camera so I can shoot black and white film. I see my whole life in a different view. I am constantly looking at things as if i can make a good picture out of whatever I am looking at. I was sitting in speech class as was looking at the window. It had bar looking wood on the window. It was framing a tree outside perfectly. I was on the third floor so it was the top off a tree. But every way I moved my head a new picture would be in another square on the window pane. I came home and went outside and took some pictures of the sun setting. Tell me which one is better? Black and White? or Color?
I see black and white. That is it. Yet again. I prefer the black and white. I can't wait to get back to the civilian life. So excited. 2013........only like 4 more years lol. I'm Out.

Sitting In Bed
Well I just got off of a 12 hour shift at the MP Station. Mid shift on the weekends is crazy. It is even crazier to receive a call where they girl beat up on the guy. The guy is smart though. He doesnt hit back. Nights like tonight make me look forward to getting out possibly. I say possibly casue you never know where the economy is going to be at in 2013. I want to get out so bad and just take pictures. Yet this job of mine is easy. Yes I deploy to iraq. But it is a steady income on a job that is to easy. Show up on time and do what you are told. Sounds easier said then done.

foot in the door
So I got this idea to talk to the city of Vine Grove, KY to do a one year photo story on the town. The people, places, and things that make Vine Grove great. From the Bluegrass Festival to the soldiers that call this town home away from home. Easier said then done. I think I have a lot of work in front of me. From paperwork to actual work. It will be tired and trying. But let me see what i can do. I plan to do it for a year or so and then have an exhibit at the school or city hall. I think it will be a good challenge for me. Plus maybe I can make a few connections along the way. That's it for now.

So while the wifey was at work the other day on fort knox, I decided to drive around and find some things to take pictures of. So i looked out my window up on this hill was this house. I loved the way the trees surrounding the house framed it. I dont know how old it was or why it was still standing. But the site of it
just had me in awe. I walked in and all i see out of the corner of my eye was the shape of a body and a head. I was a little startled I'll admit. Someone had used the house as a haunted house and stuffed clothes with hay and made a head out of it. So after feeling like a wimp I looked in the corner and saw this red chair just sitting in the corner with a white boot just sitting on it. I thought it was a little awkward. This old house with this red chair and a white boot. Not to mention the brand new porch swing hanging from front. It just shows that use can be made out of anything. I was constantly looking over my shoulder though. It was on property who i did not now. So i didnt get to shoot as long as I wanted. I can't wait to get out of the army so i can do this for a living and not just when i get time.
